ST. LOUIS, MO (PHILLYCRIMENEWS) — FIRES WERE SET AND SHOTS WERE FIRED OVERNIGHT BY A CROWD OF HUNDREDS WHO GATHERED TO PROTEST THE SHOOTING OF 18 YEAR OLD MICHAEL BROWN IN ST. LOUIS. BROWN WAS SAID TO BE WALKING HOME FROM A STORE WITH HIS FRIEND WHEN THE POLICE ASKED HIM TO GET OUT OF THE ROAD. WHEN THE OFFICER EXITED HIS CAR, BROWN PUSHED HIM BACK INTO THE CAR AND TRIED TO GRAB HIS GUN. AT THAT POINT THE OFFICER FIRED FROM INSIDE THE CAR AFTER WHICH HE FIRED 7 MORE TIMES KILLING BROWN. THE INVESTIGATION IS UNDERWAY. HE HAD BEEN ACCUSED OF STEALING CIGARETTES FROM A STORE AND THE OFFICER WAS RESPONDING TO THAT CALL. AS SOON AS HE WAS KILLED, A LARGE CROWD GATHERED CHANTING “KILL THE POLICE”. POLICE RESPONDED FROM 15 AGENCIES WITH ARMORED VEHICLES AND GERMAN SHEPHERD ATTACK DOGS AND THE PROTEST WAS VERY QUICKLY SHUT DOWN.
